Thanks sxt, and yea off-topic a bit the other posts which is quite annoying, i know one or two were joke comments :)

i made the demo's for that reason, so new-comers could see some of the movement as well as some of the other guys to show what is possible and to speed up there game.

Also i wanted to improve my own running which has only just gotten a lot better, now i can fly all over the place, on any map.

I have a nice long jump using speed on farewell i will record and upload...pretty pointless but it's good to improve gaining your speed.

I can only give additional text hints here, since I'm at work and unable to do demos here anyway

First of all, most longer movement-paths should start with a kind of jump ("circlejump") that will give you most acceleration for the beginning. these jumps are actually the ones you can e.g. do on darkzone at the rocketlauncher (the one close to the armor, not the one at the MH). esteel showed these jumps in his demopacks, too. if you manage to get over all these big gaps (also the one where the mortar is) you are able to do the first jump properly.

However, of course it's the best for your speed to strictly keep on using these circlejumps, but from what I experience all this requires too much concentration on which movement keys to press at which time and when to move the mouse for xx degrees, etc. I think that this is a bit unusable in 1on1s, where you should also be focused on aiming if the enemy suddenly pops up ;)
Thats why I rather press the forward button all the time and additionally pressing the strafebuttons when chaning my direction. This gives me also a huge speed but allows me to focus on my crosshair/enemy.

And btw, to do the jump on runningman at the hagar you won't need so much speed. Of course it's better to have fast speed, but it is not required.

What I know actually realised is how effective the "keeping-speed-through-teleporter" feature can be (ab)used :D

This "adding strafe button when turning" is actually the "cornering" that I like - especially useful on darkzone.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

Here is a collection of jumps from me: http://rapidshare.de/files/25832156/jumps.pk3.html
and i also just uploaded it to here: http://esteel.planetnexuiz.de/nexuiz/demos/jumps.pk3
just put the file into your Nexuiz/data directory and watch the jump_* demos. Best done via the demos menu :)

The collection is old, i did it right after the 2.0 release but it should show most of the tricks. Not all are useful but most of them should be.. I also think it shows nicely what can be done with Nexuiz.

The jumps/stuff i showed, were to show what was possible, but also to allow people to improve there movement, for example you know you can do that jump on runningman at the hagar with no speed, but if you can do it fluently with speed then you are being fluent with your movement, the runs are to help the other guys, increase there take off speed and to allow them to practice it, and practice the control of the movement, if they can do that, then they can do it fluently any time, anywhere on ANY map.
