Seems the dm01 fans wohk up at last. 2 late :wink:

Actually Yer right, the map itsself is qwite good for 1on1 (though I dunnow why it should be odd not to have a nexgun in the map), but the MH, mortar and hagar are so fukcin close togehter. when a slightly skilled player once gets control over the right point the other one doesn't have a whiff of a chance.

Bad thing is: Grap mortar, spam like hell, opponent gets killed.. repeat till timelimit is reached.. In the mean time make sure you get enough 100-health and armor to survive.
The other weapons in the map are not really up to the destruction of of mortar. The crylink can do much damage but its hard to hit and kill someone and its place is perfect for spamming grenades, the electro is almost imposible to reach AND get out to attack and the hagar is also hard to get without getting fragged to pieces.

1v1 i found this to be probably the worst map to break domination as the opponent gains "blast damage" weapons. ie the mortar.

theres little place to run that cant be hit from under, over, through or spammed making it nigh on impossible to regain health or armor once your "naked" after a kill.

Maybe a changed item placement would help.. what if the 100health was near the steps by the crylink or the norner between crylink and machine gun. (oh i forget that weapon.. well its also no match for the mortar.
Well i think the map is a bit too small for 1on1 :)

The spawn points would have to be overworked, mortar would have to be removed, and guess, I always missed a nexgun there :mrgreen:

Hehe i think this map is REALLY to small to warrant a nexgun.
But i still have a hard time to imagine other changes then those i mentioned earlier. What ideas do you and the others have?

i know im to late but...

nexdm1 was changed to basement and there is a CTF map which is based on basement

my question why dont we put the basement map as a 1on1 Deathmatch map in the mappool?

I think the map has got a good balance so the map is good for a fair 1on1
