A suggestion regarding CTF and the hook

Making the flag drop when grappling is harsh and also frustrating till you 'get' why its happening. I'd rather see the hook block all other guns or make it a real 'weapon grapple' so that you will have to switch to the 'grapple gun' like it was proposed by others already. I like this idea more and more each day. Nexuiz is already a very fast game and the hook really makes it insanely fast. Making it a gun of its own or the secondary fire mode for the laser would be ok. But that will look a bit strange currently. It can be made look at with CSQC. So if enough people like it to block the other guns from firing that might be worth to try.

I'd say get rid of the g_hoo_tarzen 1. That's stupid. Normal hook is much better imho.
Also, I don't like the idea dropping the flag while hooking.
The best solution: Server admins should enable hook only on those maps, that are hook friendly. Definately NOT "Facing Worlds" and "Egg and Beacon".

Agree! The current hooks is terribly bad, tarzan is lame. The old hooker was much better. If there would been a poll the hook would have stayed like it was.
So, bring back the old hook! now!

I think the tarzan hook makes it a lot more fun to use, but to each his own.

Flag dropping would confuse people initially, but lots of people are confused by how others can jump so high in the air without cheating or about what the grappling hook even is in the first place. They're all just gameplay mechanics that the players have to get used to.
