None taken. I know that I still need to refine and supplement a lot of the content on that site. I don't know if you saw the original page but it was a behemoth capable of contending with Esteel's tutorial posts ;) I had written it all in one go and hadn't really put much effort into it since then (it remained unchanged for quite a while in both content and layout, but NotMe convinced me to put some actual effort into it, which paid off imo). Aside from team messages, I need to fill out the section on aliases and configuration files, and probably even translate a few key sections.

some lighting effects though tend to help, like some lighting makes dark places (heh you get what I mean) seem brighter.

I'm pretty sure that, by default at least, armor doesn't start degenerating until you have more than 100. It won't regenerate back up to 100 like health will, but it also won't decay all the way down to 0.

Have I misobserved?

No you are right.. i'm not sure if i initially descripted it wrong or if it got in with some of the large change people helped to do. I changed the sentence a bit to be more correct.

Very good guide. It also has some things I didn't know (even though I play since 1.2.1 if I remember well), like voting. I knew how to say 'yes' or 'no' in a vote, but not how to call one. Also I still didn't know too much about runematch and scoring there and this helped.

As for small corrections and stuff:

'When you are a server, open the console and type vhelp.' >> I think you forgot an 'on' for 'on a server' but I might be wrong (as I said, I didn't experiment much with the voting system).

It also took me quite a while to find the Footsteps mutator (I missed it when listing the cvars it seems :lol:), so I'd add that it is controlled by g_footsteps and also provide a link to the wiki.

Anyway, it's a good guide and should provide some good starting info for new players ;).

Since when did the SG become a hitscan wep?
And i think the MG secondary has same dagame fro all bullets.

It has always been a hitscan weapon. The tracers are only for your viewing pleasure, they have nothing to do with damage.

No, the first bullet is always as precise and inflicts as much damage as secodary fire, only the following bullets are spreading and lower damage.

I did correct that small forgotten 'on'.. However as this is just a guide to get familiar with stuff and not a server setup guide i'm not sure g_footsteps 1 needs to be in the main post. And also the really curious people will find its being mentioned here :)

And yes KadaverJack is right. Take a large map, slowmo 0.1 (1 is default) and fire the machine gun at a wall. You will see the bullet impacts are there before the tracers hit.
