
How about something like King of the Hill?
Basically, there's a central flag in the middle of the map. The objective is to capture that flag and defend/hold onto that flag. A team that gets there first captures the area, and gains points for capturing it, and gains points for staying/holding on the area but you only receive point(s) for staying near the flag point. No points are rewarded if nobody is near the flag. Each team member gain points every X seconds for holding on/staying near the flag. An opposing team can capture the flag just by going onto it, just like in CTF - but the real reward is in holding onto it. If there are equal numbers of a team there, then the team that is defending it the area retains the area until they are outnumbered or fragged. The hope is that it becomes a good team game because you have to defend the flag if you have it, and capture it and then hold onto it if you're trying to capture it.
So.. here's an example of it.
Vladimir has captured the FLAG for BLUE Team. [Gains xx points]
Vladimir gains x points [this is for staying near the flag]
Blue Player 1 gains x points [same thing]
-- we then get fragged and outnumbered --
Red Player 1 has captured the FLAG for RED Team [Gains xx points]
Red Player 1 gains x points [this is for staying near the flag]
Red Player 2 gains x points [same thing]
Red Player 3 gains x points [same thing]
