Am I the only one that thinks the projectiles bear a distinct similarity to... spermatozoa?

If it's the Crylink that is on the RBI servers then I have some opinions :)
First of it's too slow and too bad. You could say that it's kind of a failed rocket launcher only with a purpulish color. As of now, even the laser might be even me more useful. The only situations I have found the crylink useful is in very close combat situations, but it's still as hard to hit someone as the old one :P

Well, of course I assume it's far from done and this is just pre-alpha stage, but still :) Just my 2 coins.

No other projectile drops straight down.

While it can be used to close quarters, I think it is a strategic addition to the ranged field.

A sprayable minefield in some respects. Perhaps if the projectile 'burned' on the ground for just a hair after hitting. Maybe .5 or less.

Another idea for a gun is one that seeds a plasma cloud that other guns can contribute too, and then something triggers it to burst and shower down a plasma rain. :)

How do I build and test weapons? I would like to contribute some sketches to the GPL.

New version: http://hagger.rbi.informatik.uni-frankf ... ke-0.2.pk3

Now uses another way to make explosion and color, needs more bandwidth but it's green now.

It now sticks to walls, and secondary can only be fired four times per primary. Be sure to walk around them if you can, and if you must walk over them, do so FAST, because secondary will remotely drop down stuff off them (4 times).

Basically... it's now RCGES: Remote Controlled Green Exploding Sh*t. Too bad it may be too strong now.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

Well I tried it out. I only played CTF so I can only speak for that. And to be honest, I didn't find myself using that weapon willingly. I did use it a lot to try out it's effect and it usability, but here's the deal. It didn't suit as a long range weapon cause you rarely hit anything with it, only when you're lucky or can predict where the other guy would go will you hit someone. There I'd use a nex or MG really. It can be good as a defensive weapon on CTF. For instance you can support your teammates while their fighting of attackers.
And in close range I'd rather use a MG, mortar or even perhaps RL cause of it's damage ratio. Also cause you take a lot of damage yourself with this new crylink (especially with secondary) you don't want to use it in too close range because of the splash. In mid-range I'd guess it's more effective, but also, there I'd use mortar, RL or Electro.

This is for CTF, I don't know how it would work on a fast paced 1on1 or on ffa DM. Maybe it would be more useful there.

Well, it's meant to be main useful against enemies you can't see (campers)... but not sure if that really works out. Looks like I need a better idea... just what...

I couldn't have put it better myself. The concept is cool but I find myself getting frustrated and start firing randomly hoping to get lucky when it's the only gun I'm left with O.o.

Laser-guided Missiles are better against campers.

i like the creativity of it but it just doesnt fit in the normal gameplay.
as a standalone game mode, maybe, with some other tweaked weapons. (like the Flare Gun)
