I expected this "issue". No doubt 1 on 1 should be different to DeathMatch. Maybe it should be more like a "duel" so that both players respawn if one gets killed.

Well i HAVE bound kill to a key but its only useful in spacemaps as it allows you to respawn faster after falling down. Otherwise arena-mode with maxplayers 2 is what you want.

But i think normal 1on1 should indeed be normal deathmatch but the settings might need some minor tweaks. Would be cool to test those changes with someone..

Timing item pick up, and map domination is part of this game. Imho k0jak is #1 because he figured out how to do this in a very efficient way. When someone learns how to do this the way he does, then maybe they can be #1. But changing the game because some have learned how to totally dominate a map and an opponent is wrong, imho

If the game is unbalanced then yes its worth changing.. not because someone can dominate but HOW he can dominate. In classical quake games you had several armor types and you you only get a certain max armor that prevented you to pickup the weaker armors unless you were damaged enough. In Nexuiz there is no such thing helping the weaker player. So in worst case it would be 150health/shotgun vs 300/300 armor/health and rockets/nexgun with all 'good' pickups gone. In quake games it would be harder to get SUCH a advantage.

For the next version people are experimenting with making the shotgun weaker as it is too strong for a starting weapon. So we have to see if things are still balanced enough. to allow a fair match even between equally skilled players.

Yes but what makes one person able to do this better than another, if both people start the match evenly. I understand your point though. I do like the idea of both players re-spawning after a kill

Already supported, if you play arena mode. But for 1on1 that might get a little annoying after a few frags...

Yes it might be annoying and it removes the ability to control a map. My point was that it should not be too easy to control a map.
In Nexuiz you can basically grap everything in a level leaving the enemy without stuff. This is mostly not that big of a problem but it shows against very good players so we have to keep thinking about it.
