I've mentioned this several times, and I'll mention it again. Lava is NOT A LIQUID. It's an amorphous solid. Therefore, you should not be able to "swim" in lava, even for a short amount of time. I hope that mappers in the future will include lava as a substance that can be walked on like the rigid surface it is, obviously with a large health toll. This way is much more realistic, and is better in that people don't automatically die if they fall in (if you want that, use toxic slime instead).

If the temperature of lava exceeds the liquidation point of composite elements, as proved by both the luminescence, and that one CAN swim in such lava, then such lava must be in liquid state.

Just because it's not a solid, doesn't mean it's a liquid. Even when lava does become completely liquid, it's still extremely viscous- you could not swim in such lava- that would be like swimming in warm tar.

Extremely vicious and infinitely vicious are the two defining features of lava as a liquid, and lava as a solid. Solids will eventually fracture if forced to 'flow'.

Deduce the other variables of lava if one were to be able to swim in it. [While considering the unhuman aspects of being able to survive impacts with relativistic particles, and being able to handle to re-action from launching said particle]

Lava is a liquid, but a very dense one - it is molten rock after all. Since people (with the exception of dubya) are somewhat less dense they'd float very close to the surface and burn rapidly. Most rock types melt at well above the thermal decomposition, vaporisation and ignition temperatures of the majority of bodily materials.

Also, unlike in most maps, lava is opaque. The only realish lava I've seen is where it's a bright red/yellow/orange fog with 0 distance to opacity.

How about just increasing the friction?
