I'm a fairly average player - If there was a nexuiz online player chart, my name would be right in the middle. - But I destroy 'godlike' bots on a ctf map.
The reason I'm interested - we have a lan party game going on for... hell, I don't know how long, and the all-time-favorite game mode is Quake Arena CTF against nightmare bots, but it's getting boring. We utterly destroy the bots on open range maps... closed maps are harder, but we haven't lost a game in a long time.
I was kind of hoping that there are some smarter bots for nexuiz out there that I could try.
What seems to be the problem with the nexuiz bots is:
They like to run backwards over the edges of the map.
They don't return the flag right away.
No flag protection.
No teaming up for a flag capture.
They stop moving!! Even when enemies are close by. - One of my main criticisms with the q3 nightmare bots is that they move in a straight line, which makes them an easy target... if they don't move at all however...
I would have expected the "godlike"'s to be - if borderline retards*, at least fragging machines, but it doesn't look like it.
So... would it be possible to have something like a 3:1 ratio of bots vs humans. - so 24 bots in one team, and us in the other.
How would I set that up?
I fear that this would still end in a senseless slaughter, but it could be fun.
*nothing against nexuiz... bots are stupid. We've all piled up bots at doorways from wolfenstein3d to crysis. Artificial intelligence has a long way to go.
