CTF idea- triangulation gun?

These two are really more intuitive ones.

It seems it will need new ammo type too.

Maybe some sort of sticky bombs (proximity mines). These could be used not only on players your gun, but also sticked onto the walls, etc...

Im not really keen on the idea of it being both a power bomb and a tracker. Makes it a bit to powerful and those function are a bit in conflict IMO. i mean you want to be able to track and damage him. Some other ideas for secondary:

Ping. tracker device don't auto ping, but the player must use trigger it. after X pings, the device is depleted.

Trail: Once trigged the device releases some kinda paint trail, making the mark even easier to track.
HOF:
<Diablo> the nex is a "game modification"
<Diablo> quake1 never had a weapon like that.
<Vordreller> there was no need for anything over 4GB untill Vista came along

You see, this would be yet another ctf only gun (useless in other game modes except keyhunt). I'm trying to suggest a fire mode which would be useful (somehow) in other game modes too.
1) For mines: damage could not be high (let's say only 50) but have huge radius.
or
2) Some sort of parasite gun. Attached parasite (starcraft ;)) could track the player on minimap (+1 to have minimap enabled) for some time and prevent his health regeneration, increase the rot of hp and armor but never kill him (at the worst case leave at +1 hp). Dunno about sec fire though.

I think we will need smoke trail/bubble/some other thing for fc anyway after ai finishes his flag cause this isn't visible enough.

I tried mins. fun but VERY disruptive for Nexuiz style gameplay. How many good fc's rely on health regen? not really useful.

I kinda like the idea of a gun that stops health regeneration. Think about it, it would be a little bit easier to stop a FC (which has been a problem with the fast lone cappers). Also such weapon I believe could fit any game mode as well.
Stops health regen and possibly very slowly dropping the health as well, say 1-2 health per second or something for 10 secs. This 'weapon' wouldn't be meant to kill anyone (hence the slow health dropping/stop health regen) but it's main purpose is to stop the health regeneration of an enemy.

Of course, the dropping of someones health is no necessary, but stopping health regen would be cool.

Porto-launch How the tracking thing would be useful in DM? Are you going to track smb instead of nexing him?

How the flaming fsck is porto a ctf gun? And sober up before replying. i never said it would be useful in dm. In fact i stated quite the opposite.

Because of the strategies you can do with porto protecting your flag (div's post should be somewhere around).

Yeah, sorry, missed team. :) What are other team games? Onslaught, why should it (tracking gun) be useful here? Assault? Same story.
