I used to go past ppl who were typing, then they would finish typing and shoot me in the back.

This is a two way game. Backstabbing those who kindly don't kill you when you're typing is just as a bastard thing to typekill.

Who cares about a single frag, or a bunch - on a public server.... flea has a point, and if typefragging is quick way to spot sore losers I'm all for it. You don't really know a player until you typefragged them a few times by accident, and then a few times on purpose.

Useless thread? If it would bother me to get typefragged, I wouldnt type. Problem solved.

if they are out of the way, against a wall or something, i usually dont shoot em. If i do, i use the laser to move them or just for target practise when i run by.

i only get annoyed when its either in a one on one, or i have placed myself out of the way and its obvious someone is taking a score. especially if its tight in the top and someone of the top three does it.

This seems ideal. If someone is in my way and typing (or sometimes not) I will just laser them out the way. This applies to team games too.... ie when you are about to cap and some noob runs in the way when time is of the essence

Sometimes I like to typefrag just to, make my day; like that time back in Dallas I typefragged JFK.

I've been noticing more people complaining about being fragged in a race than being typefragged.

"STOP F**KIN FRAGGING ME U NOOBS, OMG, SOME OF US WANT TO FINASH TEH RACE!1"

I try to tell them that it's just a game and I'm not fragging them to be an asshole, but because they are my opponents.

They never listen. Is race fragging going to be considered impolite too?

Frankly, in my humble opinion, they're fools and you can just keep on fraggin' 'em.

Alot of times newbes come to a game and decide that instead of learning the rules and how its played, they should make up their own rules (like no using weapon 'X', don't 'weapon whore' weapon 'X', etc.) and enforce them using the only ability they know- complaining. (Unless you are playing Tremulous- a hellish community of cheating admins on about every server.)

Race mode can be played in a number of ways set by the server that determines if you can kill folks or not- there is a time trial period where everyone is invulnerable before the actual race begins with live weapons or weapons cannot hurt any other player at anytime or weapons are using live ammo the whole game and you can kill whoever, whenever. So depending on the variant of race you are playing, you either can kill other player or you can't, it isn't a matter of what you should or shouldn't do; the server decides and doesn't let you do what you shouldn't.

i hate when they complain. maybe a sprite that goes over their head should be added to messagemode1&2 so we can see who's typing and not, then stand infront waiting for them to finish typing then frag them XD :).

Typefragging is just fine. This game is about shooting. If you want to chat, go spectator and chat. When you spawn on the map, you are TARGET, regardless of are you typing or not.
