Weapon Statistics

Sorry, I didn't manage to find much with searching the forum, I know there's a post somewhere about statistics on the servers used to help balance the weapons... But I couldn't find it.

Anyway. The only statistics I did find were either on a per-player basis, and were things like player kills/deaths/stuff, or were on a per-server basis, things like ping/maps/times/stuff.

What I was wondering, was if there is a database of statistics on a per-gun basis, such as total damage dealt of each gun, average accuracy of each gun, total kills, etc.

tf2 did something similar to this, it's on they're website here. Well, they do have damage dealt per weapon (expressed as a percentage of all damage dealt), and average damage per hit with each weapon, average damage distance, etc.

All expressed on neat little graphs...

Anyway, I was thinking something like that could be helpful for the devs for balancing weapons. And I'd be interested in reading it just as a player.

Those statistics are not tracked, current weapon balancing is done entirely by frag/death ratio.

Oh, well.

It wouldn't be that hard to track would it? Servers already keep track of deaths, and hits & misses.

    when it records a hit, it would echo the damage dealt and weapon used into a file (or wherever the statistics are kept).

    when it records a death, record what weapon caused the death.

    when it records a miss, note what weapon missed.

Other then that, I mean, it already keeps track of these things, this is just adding more information to what it records. And presumably outputting it somewhere...

After that, all that needs doing is compiling the data into per-weapon statistics.

We can already guess what some of that data will be, but it could still be useful.

Weapon statistics are about to be added to the development version really soon. But at the moment these statistics are shown on the client only. Once this feature gets stable adding it to the server log should be trivial.

Weapon statistics? Apprentice class limitations?

Any have a rough idea of the statistics for the event weapons? To approximetly what level normal weapon does this compare? Can they be upgraded?

And is it possible for guardians to take apprentices from other classes?
