I want to point out that the votes reversed... People like it more now (18 vs 15 atm). By the way, i'm included in those people. I love that it's random now and that it's announced. I play a lot of matches with powerups and it really enhances gameplay with a fight over getting strength or shield.

By the way, I think it's ridiculous with some of the reasons people are making. For one, the main reason we did this was to fix cheating. It DOES do this successfully, so that's +1 for the idea. Two, it makes it interesting with people trying to get to the quad (And it's fair, as everyone knows to go there).. +2..

Well, i'm fine with the amount of time the countdown is now.. But the menu option isn't a bad idea. (Although I do think the HUD counter is a bad idea, could cause confusion. Also, the numbers wouldn't fit.)
Do it yourself, or stop complaining.

This is just not true! Anyone who has played against my team can vouch for it there is NO might about it, getting the powerup's give's you a significant advantage normally..and that's what Waterlaz is trying to explain, it will really ruin it with randomized time's.

If the quad/items gave no advantage to people who time them, then I wouldn't time them..nor would I have taught players too either.

Watch my team play sometime against clans and you will see timing the powerups can have a BIG effect.

In general, the more items you get the more frags you can get, with equal player skill a person with a quad will always beat a person without one more time's then not.

And you go to the powerup 10 seconds or so before hand..and kill off people, that's why keeping track of it is so effective, and then you have a better chance to grab it when it comes.

Why can't we have 2 settings, one for fixed normal time like as it is, and one for randomized timings?

Because we have two settings. Any server admin can turn off the randomization.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.
