plasma gun question

i am not clear on the names of the weapons yet, but i am talking about the silver gun that shoots the white beam of plasma as primary, and shoots a million little glowing grenades with the secondary.

sometimes, i see in videos, this weapon shooting large glass balls, other times, i see it shoot tons of white particles of light that bounce everywhere. how do you get the larger, glass balls to shoot instead of the tiny white dots of light? am i thinking of the wrong weapon?

I think you are talking about the Electro.

The electro changed recently for its secondary fire (the balls) so its slightly different. Some videos have the old version where the balls can be spammed and will sit around for ages. Others have the newer version where the balls explode a bit faster.

When you shoot the electroballs with the primary plasma bolt it makes a kick ass big explosion.

wow i've been playing nexuiz for a good while now and never knew you could shoot the electro grenades with the primary fire for a bigger explosion!! guess next time I should rtfm (read the ***** manual).
