The rest looks ok if you ask me. And since you recently reinstalled the OS I'm pretty sure it's not that (for now at least).

It could also be the MB drivers, as Urmel pointed out...

Well, honestly, this is just not possible. Do you really think that's possible???? Nonono, there never has been any PCI card with 256MB RAM! I'm sure! Even Dell wouldn't dare to sell such a crap.

I rather think this Computer is completely missing its mainboard drivers, or something else really important is missing. Why don't I see any information about the chipset?

More memory is a more important with a low speed bus like pci tho. However its rather unlikely that the machine lacks agp, unless its a matx board.

If it really is a pci card i guess the dreadfully low pci bandwidth is the main problem, so making sure that as much as possible of the textures can get uploaded to the cards ram is the #1 prio, that mean turning the texture quality down with picmip #

Do we have an estimate on how much texture memory nexuiz usually needs? anyways start with "exec low.cfg" then turn picmip to some ridiculously high value like 6, then do a vid_restart. if things work better then try gradually lowering the picmip until preformace drops

<Diablo> the nex is a "game modification"
<Diablo> quake1 never had a weapon like that.
<Vordreller> there was no need for anything over 4GB untill Vista came along
<Samua>]Idea: Fix it? :D
<Samua>Lies, that only applies to other people.

Okay okay, hahaha, nice, and Dell originally put a PCI card like that into that box? OMFG bastards :D

But still, since our friend's box was running better in former times (like he posted), still there must be something wrong, and this must be a missing driver. And I guess it's a chipset driver. :?

RENZO, would you please post the service tag number of yer Dell so I can take a look on Dell's support sites?

Who said the card came with the computer? I installed it myself:\ ( Also I have picmip at 10 already. In the opengl game I was talking about, I have r_rmse set to 22 (higher would make the command map, and my crosshair distorted). I'll try to see how my computer proforms without the stick of ram.

anyway, even though I am still going to look for the issue with this computer I am going to be building a new computer in 3 weeks. I am getting 5,000 dollars to do sO.O
