Effects of demo recording on performance?

All demorecording does is dumping every received/sent packet plus some additional information like, that's like 500KB/s at most. If your harddisk can't keep up with that and you don't have a few MB of free ram to buffer that, you will have serious performance problems anyway, no matter if you are recording or not.

The only thing that effects a demo is cl_nogibs. If you set it to 1 you will not receive gibs and thus they are not on the demo. This really looks ugly and with clientsidequakec in 3.0 this will be made better.
