Get Damn Small Nexuiz and you'll play with 2000 fps.

On my laptop, I get around 12-30 fps.

I'm used to the low speed, so I play well anyway :-)

I have ine advice for you:
First, don't use AntiAliasing if you really haven't to. AA was made for old game consoles like the N64 or the Dreamcast that had to play on low-res CRT TVs and monitors, and give "good" graphics. Nowdays it's quite useless, because the tradeoff of performance of enabling AA vs. rising the display resolution is almost the same, and rising the resolution gives a more natural looking than AA gives. Anyway, if your PC is so brutally powerful that you play with the highest details, at your highest monitor resolution, and you still have 200fps, you can enable AA if you want insane-high graphics.

On High, no AA, 1024x768 : 70 - 150
On Ultimate, 4x AA, 1280x1024: 20 - 60

I play with a Nvidia card GF 7600 GT, at first I got bad fps for my machine but with a little tuning I found I got 200+ average frame rate most important setting I found was setting the maximum pre-rendered frame to 0. most of the time this is set to 3-5 by default, having a number of frames pre-rendered by the GPU just makes game play look good but adds a delay that at high frame is not notice but at level lower that 60fps make the game seam to LAG badly, i think that alot of people have been blaming servers for this LAG silly people.
