Main Menu tweeking... need help.

Postby Bp103 » Fri Oct 30, 2009 3:50 pm

Note: I'm using dual monitors of different resolutions. OS Linux, Nvidia X server. The game runs fine just some stuff is cut off by the smaller monitor.
(Left Display = 1280x1024 // Right Display = 1600x1200) Right display is the primary display making the "real" resolution 2880x1200.

I have been dealing with the tops of the main menu being cut off by the screen, so all the stuff on the left side (main menu, player text messages, misc displays) I need to move down 176 or so pixels. I also have no idea what to edit or which commands to add or change.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think it's cut off due to the Nvidia twinview drivers making Nexuiz think this is one full monitor, even though there are no pixels where you say it's cut off. I would recommend running both monitors at the same resolution for Nexuiz. (You can use metamodes to make both monitors switch to whatever resolution you set when a 3D window opens.)

If you don't want to go that approach, you can move the notify text to the side a bit with this cvar: con_notifyalign 0-through-1... 0 is left align, 0.5 is center, 1 is right align. --- You can select any position in between aswell.

Hope this helps! Welcome to the forums btw.
Do it yourself, or stop complaining.

Thanks!

You are correct on the cause of the problem, changing the resolution is a less attractive choice to me due to the left monitor being physically smaller then the right one.

con_notifyalign was very useful. :D

My goal is to move the menus down and or resize them, or at least just the menu with server list, player setup, ect. because it has the most noticeable problems with this setup. (half of the top buttons are cut off on the top left of it)

I guess what I'm really asking is where can I find the file(s) that holds the data for the menus so I can try to change where they will go after I click on them.
