Oupsie, sorry.

No there is a variable r_BLABLAdepthtest in the name.. but normal people should never need that variable :)

Guys, I am able to use autocompletion. You are right, it's called r_depthfirst, but what I did was to enter "r_dep<tab" and set the values for it, without further looking at it because there was only one matching variable.

and as you might probably already guess, "r_depthfirst" didn't yield any improvements, since this was the cvar I was testing.

yeah, sorry for not being normal

And what suggestions do you have to fix the "tdem demo1" ending in a total crash of Nexuiz ?

I've had some weird graphics corruption with this version on higher settings running under Linux. Will try and get some more useful description.

I updated that download links to point the 20070511 builds as the old ones had some problems with prediction, resulting in bad online play..

my issues with FPS were resolved! It was r_bloom being enabled because the normal.cfg changed that value to 1! So be aware to switch it off again if you upgrade and reuse your old configs

UPDATE: there are, unfortunatly, still issues. Maps like faacing worlds have a major performance drop (at times even only 50% FPS): I found out that revision 7154 is the one that is slow, 7153 is still fast for me. I wote that to LordHavoc

Well thats why i keep my own high and low config files, the ones in Nexuiz can change.. noone ever said they will stay like they were in old versions and indeed it was tried to make them looking as good as possible even at lower settings. For example lower settings now use r_flashblend to create fake lights on rockets and explosions which looks nice but can be quite annoying for 'real' playing.. My lowconfig in the Nexuiz - Performance forum tries to keep it down to really low settings for those that 'need' it :)

It's gl_flashblend. And I really want that to be zero on all cfg's or 1 only on the higher presets cfg's. And low.cfg user normal picmip... it should use lowest picmip.

And for those poor souls that like that effect can enable it. And we should also add that effect to the menu.

why the !@#$% should low.cfg use even lower picmip? Even in default settings Nexuiz uses around 128mb graphics ram now in 2.3.. Cards with even less memory should in general have slight problems and i think in 2.3 low.cfg requires only 70mb of graphics ram which should be available on all powerful enough cards..

well, 70MB is exactly 6MB more than most of the many Geforce2 users and Laptop owners have and iirc this is what those cards have available, no? Correct me pleasre if I'm wrong.

Maybe that's why the !@#$% low.cfg should use lower picmip.
