Where does one discuss the dev version of 2.4?

Postby Clueless Newbie » Thu Jan 17, 2008 3:57 pm

I've been playing with the dev version of nex 2.4 for OS X since yesterday, and I have a few bugs to report - even though most of them are probably already known to the devs.

Where does one discuss this? On this forum?

Yep, on support/bugs or report them directly to #alientrap @ irc.anynet.org

I don't know about cameras Black just made...

and why don't you simply report the bugs here?
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

You mean segmented bodies, right? And Nex is already high-quality, people are worried that we'll lose audience if we start using ragdolls that only gaming-rigs can process.

One thing that could make modders happy is some tools to simulate model collisions with rotations and stuff (to play around with models, like a ball, that would rotate with collisions)

On the other side it would be a nice feature to see the fragged players flying around like in Max Payne 2 ... in fact the "exploding and showing as much as gib as possible" is starting to get boring after it has been seen in so many games... I usually turn the gib off completly... for me it doesn't make any sense nor it does look good/funny or something like that.

In case of ragdoll I would not expect something too complex (like the Havoc engine shows in MP2) but just... something... that would be REALLY cool.

I know the alientrap team is working flat out but to add to their pressure ;)...

I tested out the 2.4svn today; I have to say I like it a lot, my only (for now (and hopefully ever)) is the "cool" font. Actually, not just the "cool" font, all the fonts they're a bit small, thus they don't look right.

Maybe you have done it like that just for the test releases... I don't know.

Thought you should know.

Can't do anything about that. The old font looked like a 1990 game. The new ones do look better, but can't be as large as they have underlengths (like g and y have). Maybe I'll revert scoreboard and console to the old font, but keep chat and menu at the new one.
