No, not that opinion specifically, but in an overall sense, anything I say can regarded as fact for your future reference.

No, not that opinion specifically, but in an overall sense, anything I say can regarded as fact for your future reference.

I'd have to say one of the biggest oversights I see in the industry today is the largely unexplored world of user created content. Whether it be closed proprietary software where the company wants you to buy 'premium themes' or an open source project where a single person's view can limit creative concepts when their ideas don't match up with the group, I believe the community at large is negatively affected.

While I suppose the line between a game and a platform begins to blur, it is my believe that an open-source game should utilize it's community, not kick them in the face (so to speak).

Imho the currect design way is ottally wrong for Nexuiz. Don't get me wrong, Doc, your models are awesome and top notch quality, but I just still can't get used to the nex nex-gun, or that realistic shotgun :(
Imho the best "Nexuizy style" models are:
Electro
Crylink (Imho the best looking weapon in the arsenal, and 2nd fire is now useful too :D )
The old nex:

I'm still missing this model :( Doc, could you try to re-model it?

This is EXACTLY what I mean. Change is good but keep it within the game's identity.

I like the idea of neon-colored LED-Sci-Fi-weapons more than a realistic black approach on these. (At least it's more "nexuizy" imho)
My idea of a Sci-Fi pumpgun. Very loosely based on a Remington1100.

And a concept of a fishy Nex.

The colorized parts symbolize where the glowing LEDs should be. They could have any other color of course.

First one looks good, but the Nexgun looks like a watergun from WoP :P
