OMG, you mean there's a loud sound then it gets quiet?!?!

Line up other 2 second sound clips and I'm sure you'll see a lot of similarities.

Also hmm
"hit1.wav" is the shorter version of my verbal gib-sound (edited to be shorter in length for time-of-play), it has absolutely NO original 'hit' sound in it what-so-ever. This was the file that was a failure amongst my peers here.

these line up pretty well. :?

No, they don't actually line up at all in real life, however, your fabricated illustration trying to make them line-up is very creative.

My own photo of these 2 waveforms does NOT line up unless you crop, shorten, and then further manipulate them purposely to do so. Furthermore, where did you get this "knife_hit3.wav" - you claim it's from counterstrike, yet when I compare it to the ACTUAL one from counter-strike, they are nothing alike.

I also have the ACTUAL waveform for that game, ...did you not expect I could investigate this? I will upload it to my signature for everyone to investigate.

Make sure you look for: "TheREALknife_hit3.zip"

This only shows me that you have further fabricated all of this to serve your own twisted means.

Also, your 'song' as you call it - is nothing more than bad samples compared to mine, ...funny how you had to lower the quality of my sounds (16bit 44100) and then distort them to TRY and make them match the quality of your 8bit 22500 sounds. Again, very creative 'tune'. Did you think that by playing them all together in a mish-mash of sound that people would actually believe this?

Bravo, you've reached a new level of pathetic insanity.

Furthermore, ...that hit1.wav isn't even used anymore, so your arguement is again, ...sadly pathetic.

LoL, it came from a fresh install of Counter-Strike v1.5 (csv15full.exe) - like I would want to make this up!

It is still the same sound mixed with Nexuiz's hit.wav. This wav file just happens to be easier to compare because it's not overamplified. or superquieted.

*Sigh* ...will it put your mind, heart and soul to rest if I REDO this sound completely and have the new version put into Nexuiz? It would only take me a few seconds to remake it. Ok?

I just want peace now, ...seriously.

I've REDONE the sound, and the new one sounds exactly the same as "hit2" does, ...only - the waveform is different, even though it still sounds like ME - for some unknown reason.

I took the gib sound from my "Combined-Gib(Mono).wav", then I cut off the beginning and made the file; "NEW-GIB.wav", then, I cut THAT wave in half and used the end of it to blend-in with the default "HIT" sound from the Nexuiz/data/sound/misc folder.

You can hear them all & test them all yourself by downloading "tenshihan_gibs.zip" from the folder called: "Sound-tests" in my signature.

Tenshihan, you really shouldn't need to go through the effort of re-working sounds. I don't see much weight to the argument against you.

There's only so many tink and squish noises any sound designer can make, but in the end they all sound like tink and squish. There's a lot of room for them to sound like sounds from other games, and of course there's debate about what kind of source you could provide, and how far the source has to go (should you have to provide video of you and a second person who signed a legal document proving they were in the room when you recorded the sound?). But, really, it looks like you have the majority of the community at your back believing that your sounds are all original, and that's all you should worry about :) Just keep up the good work.

Thank you very much for that, Shoe. I really appreciate your kind words and especially the meaning behind them.

LOL.

The first quarter is low frequency in knife_hit3.wav but high frequency in hit1.wav. No filtering can create that difference without totally changing the characteristics of the sound (which hasn't taken place).

The sounds are most likely the same ACTION recorded in the same way, and edited slightly differently.

However, the act of splashing water, or destroying a fruit, in order to create a sound is not patented.

Also note that knife_hit3 cannot be the source for hit1 as it has much more noise in it - and noise reduction filters are FAR from perfect.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

leileilol has said he will leave this alone. I don't he had bad intentions in bringing this up, but after the team has looked at his case there is no need to keep this open.
It would be irresponsible to keep going with this accusation publicly and put Nexuiz's license in question, and I think he has acknowledged this.
