The case of the "hit" sound is solved now, too. It actually has historical reasons regarding the origin of CS.
Also note how Tenshihan's hit sound source is much higher quality than the one included with CS:S - and no filter can "reinvent" the high frequency detail that got lost when downsampling, which actually IS THERE and you CAN SEE IT if you use a decent wave editor like Audacity in the spectral view.
A claim that Tenshihan may have used Sound Generals samples as source of the hit sound, when he was ACTIVELY in the CS/HL modding scene in the past, would be ridiculous. Why would he, among all the sounds Sound Generals have, take exactly the one that was (supposedly) also used for CS? Finding that one sound would take longer than redoing it on his own, or simply ripping it from CS, and if it's just a hit sound, nobody would notice the quality difference anyway (except for in a wave editor).
However, the sound will be redone anyway, to remove any doubt.
hagexp, however, looks ABSOLUTELY clean to me, no matter how I try to analyze it. Note that the three sounds are the same at different speeds, but elite_fire.wav is completely different.

1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again
You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.
