For non-team games ONLY (the column fails to add in team games).

And someone has to come up with good graphics files for this, I can't do graphics. Morphed?
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

Looks very good, divVerent. And we probably don't need it in team games that much since we have the team color's background and we know everyone is blue or red. As for the graphics, I could try to make something nice if I knew the way you needed the textures to be like. As in, how must the graphics files be arranged? Two files both half full and half alpha that blend into one another? Texturing is one of the things I got to do most so I could make something nice but I need to know how to part / arrange the two textures and how they fit together. Whats the exact initial color they need to have also, and max resolution in height to fit well there?

Why adding such a feature? It isn't important.

It's actually something that existed pre csqc menu, it was lost in the transition. So it's more like "bringing back" a feature.

In a DM game it's easier to figure out who's who on the scoreboard when you can match names with their color.

Non-programmers always think that a feature being gone is because of someone willingly taking it away.

Often stuff has to be reimplemented from scratch for various reasons. So "bringing" the feature "back" is not just undoing its deletion, like many people think, but actually writing it again, possibly in a different code design which may make it much harder than it was before.

Indeed they are useful and in non-team games and this does help pretty much. Anyway I decided to make some icons on my own already though they're very simple but from what I checked they should work at least as a start. Could have made something more complex but I really didn't have any ideas and the idea with the colored split circle seemed best to me. Not sure if they're big enough or if they look good but from what I measured they should fit and come on nicely.

I'm guessing its ok to post them here since if anyone wants to take them they can do so from the game's data package anyway. They are two png files which contain alpha (if tga with mask is rather needed let me know) and that must come one over another as the blending / covering is done in the texture's alpha. I made them white with gradient guessing they should colorize well like that. If any changes are needed or they look bad let me know.

Nevermind the above, I got the latest SVN and they clearly couldn't match. I made some nice looking icons for that over the real thing which I also tested and they should look perfect. I also respected the order of the colors and added some nice shading for them to look nice. I believe they're ready to go in SVN so I put all 3 tga files in an archive here:

[EDIT] I just made an improvement that makes the icons look much more nicer now. If anyone added the older ones without the clipped corners re-add them again, these ones are updated. Also updated the screenshot.

Centered no, but I can change the code to put them in front of the name instead. The current code already allows it.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

Just did it. The "color" column now no longer exists, the "name" column now adds that icon in front of the name when not in a teamplay mode.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again
