As far as I know, the "nc" part in Creative Commons still allows commercial use if the author approves.
But Nexuiz content needs a gpl-compatible licence anyway

FL/OSS can't be a license given only to a certain project (X can only be used by project Y commercially). Violates the freedom to distribute principle. A nice thing about the GPL, ofcourse, is that no one can ever lockup whatever additions they make to your work, you always get paid back in "labor" (the additions made to the work is also GPL). The wonder of recursive licensing

You're right, I totally forgot about the re-usability!
Also, recursive licencing as you call it is a good thing, it seems. But I hope it does not go out of control after a while :p
