Heh, ok then. Then you're not the person I am thinking about, I suppose it was MirceaKitsune who has done some patches, or other kind of code for Nexuiz. But nice to know what you do as well. The fox brothers plan to take over the world!

That's the plan. ^_^

I'm just opening you up to this possibility, so that you won't be surprised, or angry, in the future.

Yes, that is true. The devs know best and decide, I wouldn't be upset if they said no just think it would be sad not to include it if the patches were made. I'd like to hear what the devs think.

I'm Taoki from IRC, and made (or started) codes such as the per-weapon crosshairs, auto-taunt system and other stuff in the past. I only met Mizu Kitsune once on another IRC network before this forum. Guess we are many kitsune here then I thought ^^

Anyway, as I was nicely sitting on the beach today relaxing, I realized an obvious detail I had missed. We already have a monster bot system which is currently used on several maps: turrets. Not the static ones but walking machinery, such as the big spider robot, the little wheel which follows you and shoots laser... each even have their own attacks rather then using player weapons which is perfect for SP.

So if this is the right thing to go with, the monster bot system is there and working. All we need to do is make some SP monsters and add them next to the spider and the others, and this part should be mostly solved if I'm correct :)

Right, as I might have said earlier, we should use tZork's code to the fullest. Monsters and vehicles this provides us.

I'll be more than happy to create the models for these.

Right now though I need to finish the 6 terran character class models and 6 alien character class models. These will be used extensively over the campaign.

Most of these look like monsters and vehicles themselves anyway though (for example, none of the aliens are even humanoid), the difference is that they are all meant to be playable and be balanced against each other (for instance, they all fit into the standard player model bounding box, hold their weapons in about the same location, and have visible "weaknesses" at head level for camper rifle target practice ).

But I will need to switch gears soon and finish the first campaign/chapter summary, which is only about two thirds complete at the moment.

Btw Flying Steel. Could you posts wips of those models you're doing? One important thing about a community like this is to get feedback and not do everything behind closed doors. Cause once you release them and many people don't like them, you'd only be hurting yourself in the long run anyway as you, or someone else would have to redo them.

Wip stages are the most critical to get feedback on, not when they are nearly complete.
Keep in mind, what you see fits the Nexuiz style doesn't necessarily correlate to the next person. In this case, feedback is the most important thing, if no one says or comments on your models then they at least had a chance to change it but didn't. Then it would be okey to use it.
