New GUI for Nexuiz?

It would be nice to have CEGUI, or any other GUI engine in DarkPlaces / Nexuiz with QuakeC.

Whats so bad about the current "gui engine" ? Also do you mean the menu part or the HUD? The current menu "engine" is quite well done and capable!

Besides it would have been very nice to at least provide a link to that thing you proposed. Not to mention that you forget to name advantages one would get from doing that or whats bad with the current one..

In fact, possibly the best/cleanest code currently in Nexuiz. I'd definitely focus on other parts than the menu.

I'm talking about in-game GUI. It would be nice to see in Nexuiz analog VGUI which can be seen in GoldSrc.

No. Divverent's excellent menu system for Nexuiz is not going to be replaced. It destroys every other menu I've ever seen in any other First Person Shooter: be it FEAR, Tremulious, Enemy Territory, Sauerbraten, Alien Arena, etc etc.

The answer is No.
We like Div's menu.
It is excellent.

Yes something like cequi would be nice, but someone would have to code the relevant binds, that may not be all that easy in this case since cequi is c++ (iirc) and darkplaces in plain c. i had some stability issues using cequi in another project, but that was ages ago so its proly not relevant anymore.

for those curiosity, cequi is a ogl render capable ui system, with a preddy impressive feature and tool set. http://www.cegui.org.uk/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

Any implementation that would allow a customization of the in-game gui would rock. CPMA/Warsow have interesting features in gui customization, nexuiz has a good guy but it's not customizable would be cool to see such an implementation.

Maybe different themes? I always like the old school green line computer screen themes. What is there now works well though so don't you dare downgrade!
