Synchronise the map time of team games

As you might have noticed the Nexuiz 2on2 TDM ladder has a timelimit of 15 minutes, whereas the Nexuiz 3on3 CTF ladder has a timelimit of 20 minutes. As some people may be bothered by this I want you guys to decide whether you want
  • Both ladders to be 20 minutes (which means that 2on2 ladder will have a longer playtime)
  • or whether to keep it that way (2on2 ladder 15 minutes, 3on3 ladder 20 minutes)

I'm not doing this as a poll, but rather as a discussion. A poll might follow at a later point of time.

My personal thoughts: Keep it as it is, 15 minutes are stressing enough in TDM, where action is really nonstop. However, for CTF, there are more likely slower elements in the game, stacking up, preparing a tactic, which means that a longer playtime reflects the type of game imo.

I too want to keep it that way. 20 min TDM might be too much and I think people complained it being that long and if you're on the losing team against a totaly dominant team it might not be much fun to get owned for that long :P.

As for CTF one would need a little more time as you getting the flag and bringing it back takes more time than fragging someone. Also, it will give the teams more time to even the scores out and I know from experience that one needs lots of time to counter-attack and plan.

I too think it is better the way it is.
Don´t know if i could take 40 mins of Nexuiz dm -stress and -action ;)

I already told Green that i'm more used to 10 minutes 1on1 and 15 minutes for (all) team matches but i doubt people want to change the current settings (15 minutes for 1on1 and tdm) so i'm for making all of them 15 minutes including CTF.

You know, 2 x 20 minutes + some warmup and other stuff like reports are well over one hour? :)

20 mins for a DM map is standard i thought (and said before the ladder was even made)

15 minutes is standard in 1on1 (from my POV)

20 mins is standard for CTF maps


team games should be 20, 1on1's 15......that's how the games have been in all of the UT series i have played, and in quake 3 i believe as well?

Yes, it is so in Q3, too. CPMA 1v1 is a bit different, though - its standard timelimit is 10 (as in Quakeworld)...
