Trying out a timelimit of 20 minutes

kojn suggested to extend the current timelimit for the 2on2 TDM ladder (and thus the servers using the ladder-configs) from 15 minutes to 20 minutes.

I'd like you to try out whether you like it or not on the dcc's delight 2on2 server, which currently has the timelimit extended to 20 minutes. If you don't know what or where to find this server this issue isn't really interesting for you, because it is intended only for experienced Nexuiz gamers who've already played a few 2on2s on this delight server (or any other server) with the "old" 15 minutes timelimit. You should've played matches before with 15 minutes timelimit in order to be able to compare it to the new setting.

If you are a ladder server admin of another 2on2 server that runs the ladder compliant rules, feel free to set the timelimit to 20 minutes for the moment as well.

Please only vote AFTER you played on a server that uses this new timelimit.

I don't like this idea of polls cause i know some people will just be stupid and vote No for the sake of it....but anyway.

I asked for this, because we now have 2 european TDM clans trying to get activity up.

CTF has 20 minutes time-limit, and a long time ago this got set to 15 which i really disagree with, all other FPS games of this kind of genre (UT series and Quake series to name a few) all have 20 minutes TDM time-limit.

From the games of late of 2on2 that i have played with CON, i noticed that the game's tend to really get going at about the 10 minute mark and the control over one-side tends to start growing around this area or become equal..had a lot of close games vs CON

Please vote if you REALLY wish to play TDM in clan-based games which use the ladder.

I really hope people wont justl vote there own oppinions without even playing with 20 minutes, or hardly playing TDM games clan-based which i know most of the people so far dont.

I've played a couple 2v2 TDMs that were 20 minutes (by accident, not purposefully) and it seemed a little long. But, IIRC, those weren't close matches. If it's a close match, then I can imagine 15 minutes passing by way too quickly. So I guess it's best to just go with 20 minutes.

It would be neat to have a 15 minute time limit which automatically extends to 20 minutes (like an overtime or a second round) if the scores are close enough by the 15 minute mark. If one team is getting beaten badly, I would imagine both teams would appreciate an earlier ending to the match.

I voted yes, since i play a lot of TDM and think that 15 minutes is just way too short. As kojn said, the game barely gets going before the 15 minute timelimit.

I voted yes, I think that the 15 minute 2v2 tdm are very short and don't allow you to get into the game and when you do, the match is over. I think this will be a big improvement and will make 2v2 tdm a lot more interesting.

I played with a timelimit of 20 minutes and it felt nice.

I'm with Dokujisan on this, I played a few 20 mins games and 15 mins seems plenty to me for 2v2. For 3v3/4v4 sure. But for 2v2, 15 minutes is long enough for a comeback when game is close and short enough for a team getting raped to not get frustrated.

Everyone is still new at Nexuiz TDM (no matter how long ago nexuiz was released), right now tdm is won by individual skill, not so much by teamplay. As people play more, it'll get even more fast paced, I don't think it'll take 10 minutes to get going. I think 20 minutes is gonna be too much. That's the reason people don't play just one map, they play at least 2.
