Too small. Really.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

Too much exposure to other players (high interaction rate) spoils many open maps, regardless of size.

I have had good games on it when playing Minsta CTF. Which is insane but also insanely fun :)

But, it is just not really a good map. The looks are sort of alright, the patches do make it look smooth. But what good can be said about the gameplay ? If it would be upgraded to have twice the space platform wise and some more elevation differences between them it could be a lot better. But then it would become a sort of second Evilspace.

It's also a bit 'buggy' in that you can jump behind the curved walls at the back of the two opposing platforms. At least, you could when I played it some time ago. I even saw minsta matches where someone could snipe from behind the walls and not be hit themselves, like you could do on Bluesky until that was fixed.
Now with new shiny avatar.

Small, ugly, buggy. Plain and simple, this shouldn't be official.

Dismal once was my favourite back in the good old 1.21 times and I always liked it instead of its bugs. It's pure suicide fun, especially the fight for the Nexgun place in the middle. I'm glad Nexuiz is having quite a lot of maps that don't really make sense, and together with Evilspace this is the grandfather of the simple open fun maps. Keep it like it is. Not every map has to have tactical deepness.

Yeah i think dismal is ok for (m)instagib but is too small and open at the same time for all other game modes.
The mentioned bug were one could get behind that wall is fixed iirc

Unless one plays instagib i'd say the design is bad. Also for a symmetric map the itemlayout is too uneven.

Well this grandfather needs to be sent to the old folks home because it's way past it's prime. Evilspace is much more aesthetically pleasing and lacks the giant bug concerning curves.

Dismal works for LMS and 1v1 CTF, and I appreciate high death-floor, but I voted bad design for the curve flaws and that it doesn't play well in general.
