Personally I think this map's visuals could use some improvement, the layout is good (but could probably use a little tweaking) and the items while not outstanding in any way are conducive to brutal deathmatch, which is clearly its purpose.

I think the mortar arena gets overused a bit, but that's not solvable without making it more of a multilevel arena rather than a two-floor arena.

Perhaps some inspired level designers can come up with a successor to Downer? (Not just a remake, Downer is good enough as it is, but another variant on the theme)

I like this map a lot. It's one of those small yet not at all claustrophobic maps where you can deal some quick and brutal matches. The items are OK from my point of view: you have a lot of explosives, the RL is placed in such a way that a skilled player with a mortar or a laser can easily make it difficult for you to pick it up, the electro is placed near the central arena where you can cause blue ball havok. Also, the megahealth can be an item to race to and the machinegun is a nice thing to have if you run out of rockets.

You have a lot of path choices so opponents can easily become unpredictable.

The visuals could indeed be improved, but I don't really mind. Everything's too fast to notice that anyway :) .

I like the map visuals and layout, and the item placement, save for one thing: there are three armors on this map. There should only be one. As it is the game is over once one player gets all armors and MH.

like kyre said, too mutch armour (even four of em acctualy). also could be interesting to try at a slightly larger scale, or perhaps with a room or two more.

Having read the complains about the armors i have to agree. Its almost impossible to comeback once your opponent managed to get three items under his control. This is not good for such a small map. Maybe just keep the 100health and the armor next to the electro.

The map layout is nice, the visuals could be a bit better but its not too bad thus voted for good.

This map has good potential, but it looks and feels outdated. It really looks like a user-made quake1 map. However that doesn't really bother me at all, just pointing this out.

The big problem, has others mentioned, is too many armors. I have not played it in a long time but from what I can remember, esteel's suggestion sounds right.

I think the flow of the map could be better, make moving around on it more interesting, a lot of the architecture feels wrongly scaled. I think it is a bit too "blocky".

Overall it's a decent map but needs some work to be on par with other nexuiz official maps.

you read my mind, first thing i thought as soon as i see this post was:-

Needs scaling up definitely.
Remove atleast 2 armours, and perhaps re-position them (if you add any extra rooms e.t.c).

but i'd say scaling it to be quite bigger is definitely a biggy.
