Updated again. Since the patch performance issue was fixed in SVN, all patches can be solid walls as they should. I had to use func_clientwall previously which caused awful movement inside the cylinder tunnels.

Pasting a bit of chatlog, since you didn't answer :)

<MrBougo> Taoki|away, you should read about map versioning, there are conflicts with your vixen map's different versions
<MrBougo> it would be better if you didn't use capital letters in the filenames as well, it's not very common
<MrBougo> basically, for naming, you should use vXrY, so the latest version would be v1r2 in that case
<MrBougo> the bsp file should have that version in its name, to avoid client-server conflicts
<MrBougo> (currently, the server asks the client if they have vixen.bsp, no matter what version, so if the server runs v1r2 and the client has v1r0, there's no download command sent to the client)
<MrBougo> the other files that must share the same name as the bsp must have that version as well
Meh.

Ah, I didn't know about this issue :( And I didn't answer because I'm away and online from my laptop... just finished setting things up so I missed every chat today. I'll keep this in mind and try to repack when I get back, in about 2 weeks.

The reason I thought its ok was because I knew the .pk3 is the one being downloaded that the server looks for, regardless of what's in it, and that apart from that different files would be identified even if they have the same name.

[EDIT] Fixed it already actually. My laptop connection isn't -that- slow :)

Nope, the server looks at the files, and knows what pk3 it got them from.
It sends that command to the client:

Code: Select all
curl --pak --forthismap --as Into-the-vixen_V1.0.pk3 --for maps/vixen.bsp http://rm.endoftheinternet.org/~nexuiz/getfile.cgi/Into-the-vixen_V1.0.pk3

I guess the client then sees it already has "maps/vixen.bsp" in the data or the dlcache dirs, and does not download from that url.
Meh.
