I don't see this as license terror... The problem is that people might get in trouble downloading this, and they are not even warned about it.
Also, if you are contributing for free software, you have to keep these things in mind. It's free for a reason :)

I am myself against such exaggerated intellectual property. But there are laws, and if you want to take the risk of getting in trouble, don't force the others to do so unknowingly
Meh.

Risking to have legal issues because of playing or downloading a game map is indeed not a license terror... it's something much worse then that :? Anyway I'm keeping both the music and no music version so everyone is happy. Just don't have both at the same time since the map is the same and it would conflict. And fight your government, -play- Deck16 with music :P

@ Dokujisan, I replaced the minstanex with the Shield powerup as well, you can redownload the fixed map from the original post.

Yes, I think that's best.

And no, it's not "license terror" that's coming from us. It's what's coming from the content industry, in case you're reading the news regularily.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

I didn't mean it's coming from us of course. It's coming from the corrupt governments and companies which are allowed to do what they want, and who create hardcore laws so they can win a few more cents. They are the ones who terrorize internet users and make 14 year olds not sleep at night because they don't know if the police is coming for them the next day after they shared a movie or song on DC++ >_> But we can still hope that someday soon such governments and institutions will collapse and burn to the ground, if they really do everything you read in the news they do.

One should fight with smth in order to make it fall. Simply saying this is bad leads nowhere.

11 years is nothing, whether it applies to videogames or any other medium.

You've already recreated the map design, textures, and entity placement, why don't you reapply your talents and recreate similar music?

Here in the US, music copyrights remain in effect until 70 years after the original artist's death.

This law came into effect on 1/1/1978, so the latest any music can fall into public domain under these conditons is 1/1/2048.

So yes, 11 years is nothing. That's in the USA, at least.

We should move this discussion somewhere else (if anything else needs to be said) and only talk about the map now :p
Meh.
