Oh shi... Copyvio problem solved.

Which DP incidentally supports via libcurl:

on Windows, make a .bat file with

set http_proxy=http://your.proxy.url:8080/
set https_proxy=https://your.connect.proxy.url:8443/
set ftp_proxy=http://your.proxy.url:8080/
nexuiz.exe
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

it's not obvious for me what's the point of dowloading through the proxy if you're still downloading?

Yeah, we should probably move this discussion somewhere else if anything. Hearing about such copyrights and legal stuff rather fills me with hate for our governments which I'd rather avoid :x I'd like to hear more opinions on the map otherwise.

The map certainly looks good... It's just that it is the one UT DM map I hate. It is simply overrated.

But it really looks great and still faithful to the original. You really did this just by looking, not exporting or measuring in UnrealEd?

I worked with UnrealED on one side and netRadiant on the other, switching between the two constantly to measure. Couldn't have done it as close only by memory.

I like Deck16 personally, though I agree it's not the only good map in UT. I decided to port it because it's the most common map which many players like a lot, but I have thoughts about porting others as well in time (such as Pressure... should be doable with a triggered trigger_hurt :) )

Almost every single map in Unreal Tournament as well as quite a few from Unreal were truly a work of art. Some of the most notable maps from Unreal were: Radikus, Ariza, and Elsinore. As for UT99 deathmatch (I'm not even going to bother with the other gametypes because listing them would be time consuming) the list is would be extremely huge: Deck 16 ][, Curse ][ (remake of an Unreal map), Pressure, Agony (My personal favorite), Arcane Temple, Codex, Conveyor, Fractal (awesome for one on one), Grinder, Liandri, Malevolence, Morpheus (think this one has already been done), Phobos, Shrapnel, Stalwart and Stalwart XL, Tempest, and Turbine. I'm pretty sure their are more maps than that worth remaking. Anyone who decides to port UT maps would sure have a hard time running out of stuff to do.

Best remake of this map i've seen by far, however I would like some remakes to fit nexuiz more, like how easy is it to laser upto the top where the (nex?) is?

perhaps make it higher up, however the ramps look the correct angle/steepness finally.

And Lee_Stricklin, very under-rated map and one I hardly play much was DM-Gothic (very well made and architecture), and quite big also :)

Conveyor was indeed epic map-making :)

EDIT:-

Flak area looks nice and spacious and the right scale as well as the lift area from what I can see, I will try take a look at the map soon when I download it :)

Good work though by the looks of it.

Yeah I'd say you definitely did what Epic SHOULD have done for UT3: You made a faithful remake of one of the best DM maps of all time and on top of that you made it look BETTER than the original. This seems to an evolved version of Deck16][ with bits and pieces looking different, but not alien and pieces of it looking the similar to the original. This is definitely how a map should be remade. The ONLY thing I noticed was that the room with the ramps isn't as long as the UT one, however it didn't seem that way in-game and is pretty much impossible to notice unless you look for it. Because of that "error" the part of Deck16][ that got annoying at times (trying to mad dash for the minigun or shock rifle) was actually fixed.
