[MAP] vitamea_modR2

This morning's release of vitamea_mod had a fatal flaw in it (check my nick to see why). If you've put it on your server, then get rid of it ASAP.

Download the (hopefully) fixed version here:

(no new errors here, I hope)

I agree with Torus' remarks about this map on the other thread. The point of this style of map is that it is somewhat of a maze. When you remove the ceiling of this type of maze, you are basically created one massive pathway above the entire maze, which removes the maze itself. So you've essentially broken the maze. :-)

What I was hoping you did was create a version of this map that maybe had two levels. That could be neat.

I've wanted to do this since I first played vitamea. I don't like mazes — not in computer games anyway. What I've done has turned it into something similar to succor_socks, but with trenches.

Maybe, but then it'd still be a maze. ;)

Why don't you give it a shot? Make your version of vitamea? 8)

Oh, you don't like mazes. I see.

FWIW, I don't like sucker socks. :-)

I have way too many projects on my plate already. I tried out map making a couple months ago and it turns out gtkradiant is currently buggy on vista. I'm about to install a dual-boot with Ubuntu on my main computer, so maybe I'll get back into map editing sometime.

I understand your perspective and I enjoy what you have done with this. It looks a little half baked to be honest but even though the implementation doesn't feel complete, the concept is a good one.

I'm interested in seeing where this ones goes.

btw, I think you should be able to walk off the floor and die.

Neither do I. Hopefully, succor_socks + a maze of trenches will be fun (for me). ;)

So am I. But it doesn't seem to be on any servers — not the ones I play on anyway — so who knows? ;/

I thought about adding death triggers "outside" the regular part of vitamea, but I decided to make this as simple and basic as possible.

And did you notice that all the sprite models are gone? For some reason, they all vanished when I saved the level I was working on. B(
