[CTF MAP] SkyShaper

Postby freefang » Sun Jul 06, 2008 12:35 pm

Here is a new map I have been working on, all kinds of feedback are appreciated.
It seems to play nicely with the hook, altough it was designed without it directly in mind.

If it's designed for hook use, then maybe you should make sure the hook is enabled by default in the .mapinfo file. I think this will do the trick:

Code: Select all
settemp_for_type ctf g_grappling_hook 1

Otherwise, I would suggest adding raised footpaths to the map to make it easier to move around without the hook.

The paths to the other base aren't easy to determine the first time. Maybe using a 3D models for the jumppad (like the arboria ones can help), for the moment they are hard to see. Also I think the moving platform isn't fast enough to be really useful.

otherwise your concept is unusual or different, good point. :)

Played it the other day, its a nice map although I think people were having a few gripes.

Noobs mostly, kept falling off the edges of the map. Funny to watch but ruins gameplay a little :P

Some of the jump pads seem rather unnecessary such as in the towers where one jump pad sends you up, but misses the second one built into the edge of the wall. I saw many people getting confused with this, especially since the second pad isnt visible.

Other than that I had a pretty fun game.
Possibly not the worst mapper in the world.
