Do you have planned to ruin any other of my maps?

You don't always need some super-modern-shiny-texturing in maps. IMO we NEED some maps like eyecancer :) (some!)

and I never play with in-game music...

Yes, we do need unusual maps!

Why does everyone hate eyecancer, ito, spacehampster...

'cuz it makes my eyes and ears bleed. ;)
ito,

I rather like Ito, actually. Not my favorite map, but I don't mind playing it now and then.
spacehampster...

'cuz it's impossible to get anywhere.. ;)

Different, offbeat, strange maps are a good thing imo. But they have to be playable — and "playable" means being able to actually play. Spacehampster and Eyecancer are both unplayable, but for different reasons. Ito, otoh, is perfectly playable (I can see where I'm going and both flags are reachable). Augenkriebe is also playable, even though it gives me migraines.. ;)

eyecancer IS playable, and it's even fun... it's actually a challenge to see things, which I personally like. I like challenges, as long as they aren't ridiculously stupid or *really* impossible.

If you can't do it, it doesn't mean it's impossible heh :)

I tested hookrace, I wish the patches wouldn't eat all my velocity when I touch them...

I think I _will_ make a mod to eyecancer... and I don't care of cortez disapproves.

But all I'll do is adding cel shading (like blueamuse81_wsw) and possibly changing the skybox.

Hm... and maybe non-free-izing the map by replacing the song by developers-developers-developers-developers... but no, then I need to turn it into an anti-map somehow... perhaps by making the map show as sky, and the sky be one-colored red/blue... not sure yet
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

I really can't believe that there's any objection to a mod of eyecancer. I remember when cortez was making the map and he showed me a preview... I jokingly said that he should make it augenkreb2 (eye cancer 2) so he removed the textures and did. I always though it was meant mostly as a joke, especially with the music.

Cortez, I think you should really reconsider your objections, if you are actually being serious. Variation is not destruction, it is evolution and leads to diversity.

(I might quote myself on that later. :P )

That's an engine thing, afaik. Haven't experienced it personally, though.
