Ok, I've been working on this map for quite awhile I took a break from it(switching computers).

I installed GTKRadiant on ubuntu and it couldn't load any textures.
So I asked someone who I knew was currently into mapping.PCLizard kindly agreed to texture my map and it turned out great!

I hope to see it on the batcaves being tested soon.

For one thing, WAAAY to dark. I'll test out the gameplay when I have the time.

Yep it is quite dark, I think it might look nice with some creative lighting and maybe change the textures on the big columns to something more... columney.
Possibly not the worst mapper in the world.

In a few words.. The map is very very simplistic in style and could use more eye candy.

I suppose you just started mapping, but to get good ideas about interesting layouts take a look at runningmanctf or mikectf2. Those feature several ways to/from the flags and offer a dedicated base that holds the items and houses items to help with defending the flag. There is also usually a spot in the center with an important powerup like shield or quad to fight for.

As for eyecandy, i guess this comes with more experiance in mapping, add a few things here and there. do not use the same texture on huge walls, break them down and change things, add more light, shadow, lightsources with different colors..

Its however quite ok for a start :)

just like any other map (well... not for me, I'm used to it), because ppl just can't leave the brightness settings untouched :P
and mappers usually "forget" (grrr) to reset brightness and fov settings before taking screenshots :P
