[Your daily q3 map][18] Skinmaster - Leafland

Postby Strahlemann » Wed Sep 24, 2008 10:04 pm

Nr. 18:
A very open and experimental CTF map set in the middle of a pond. Should be fun for a couple of rounds, and it'll give you a fresh look and feel to your map collection and adds a new "music" track. I suggest to play 2on2 - 4on4.
Btw: The water IS player clipped by the author. The *.map file is included so if you think that this needs to be changed, it shouldn't be a problem to do so. Just let me know.

Title: Leafland - Midnight Grotto
Download: >>HERE<<
Installation: Save the pk3 to your Nexuiz/data folder. Start Nexuiz and choose the map from the CTF menu.

40 hours compile time? That's ludicrous.

I feel bad for him :P

It's a nifty idea, and it doesn't look too bad, but I don't think it's a really functional map. I love the skybox though (despite the distortion).

Wow, someone actually a) had a SGI Visual Workstation, and b) actually had the patience to produce something with it...

I played a round on this map and I like it. I think it's large enough for more than 4 vs 4. But then I'm the guy who made Torus.. ;)

I have only one real complaint about this map, and that is that it's too dark. I'd suggest increasing all the lights by about 50%. As they are now, it's hard to tell which team you're on. All the players look black.

The map itself isn't too dark but the players are indeed. fullbrightskins should be used. I'll recompile it with increased light-values to see the difference.
