Gibbing

Postby Sircyn » Mon Nov 13, 2006 4:50 pm

Hey, guys. I'm kinda new to source editing, but I was wondering where the code that handles gibbing is? Basically, I'm trying to remove the blood and gibs in Nexuiz. If there's any easier way than editing the code, I'd be glad to here it.

There is already a menu switch, that disables gibs (Options -> Player -> Disable gibs). To get rid of the blood, put "cl_particles_blood 0" in a new file called autoexec.cfg in Nexuiz/data/.
And to answer your original question: players are gibbed in cl_player.c PlayerCorpseDamage. But that stuff happens serverside, so the current no-gibs-code is kinda hackish :)

Okay, thanks. Wow, that was prompt. Most open source game forums move kinda slowly.
