Man, shots like this only show even more that we need new player models BADLY!

Great textures and lighting there. Having a source of the light would make it more natural though.

Progress update

Postby ihsan » Sat Feb 17, 2007 11:33 pm

Progress is slow but not stopped. I have been spending a lot of time experimenting with creating photographic textures and normal maps. Not much actual mapping. Just so that you guys have something to run about in I decided to compile what I got so far. This is pre-alpha and just so I could get some ideas about where this project should be headed.

The map appears in the menu.

Do you think nexuiz can handle this?

I think that its low enough poly. However I really dont think that a (semi)realistic human model is the look that Nexuiz tries to accomplish. Thats much more counter-strike. the texturing is pretty good though, and it looks nice for the # of polys youve got.

Well, personally I think the skin can be made "Nexuiz style" pretty easily by adding glowing stuff... and generic "my first Cyborg" features.

Yeah I know. I started this model before I came up with the idea of using it for nexuiz. I am going to change it significantly for nexuiz. I was going to characterize him a bit more and attach cybernetics to him so he looks like he fits in with the rest of the monsters. Maybe making his vest metal will help too. I dunno, give me advice on how to make him more "nexuiz". [/quote]

You know what would be awsome? A Hugh model. You know, Hugh the Borg. Three of Five.
