Texture Artists?

Postby Eli » Tue Dec 19, 2006 4:07 am

Hey I'm working on a map for Nexuiz and Open Arena and I want to give it a more unique graphic style then most of the maps I've done in the past. Mostly before hand I've used textures either by evillair or sock which are mostly your standard style DM game textures. For this level I want it to be similar but have a somewhat more real-world look, however exaggerated. The image I have in my mind is like a cold war soviet block style, with lots of heavy geometry, concrete, and rusty metal and pipes. The level itself is some kind of production plant which is located in the center of a few block apartments which will be somewhat accessible to the player, much like Morpheus in UT classic except with a more complicated level between the structures. I'm useless at texture creation and I'm looking for someone who can produce good-looking, gritty, real-worldish textures as well as all your usual trims, lights, and girders which you want for any DM level. If anyone's interested in helping me out let me know.

Right now, (and i mean just this minute) I'm beginning work on my own photorealism mapping challenge map.

I can make textures and will have to for my own project. My own map will probably end up as a submarine or factory so i will be making a lot of old pipes and metals. I'll post up screenshots and textures when i have something more.

Cool man, that's just what I needed to hear, it's super hard to find people who want to make totally new textures these days, especially real-world style. Add me on your AIM or MSN dude.

Until they finally install my DSL @ my new apartment i'd be offline :( but until then you may want to check out action cube. http://action.cubers.net/
They took the fairly simple cube FPS game and made it as realistic as possible despite the obvious engine limitations.
