I've got a big idea that kind of hinges around being able to move (or possibly disable/enable, if that would work) a teleporter. The idea being that you can move through an area without teleporting until a button is pressed and then the teleporter is there.
Making it a func_door won't work as then it's not a teleporter so I need some other way. The only references I have found to doing this in anything Quake related is for CS:S and it refers to a "parentname" key that you can give to a brush and then it moves with the brush. I've tried this and it doesn't seem to work but is there another way?

Well, using a server mod it could be possible. That could run into some interesting situations though.

It's only possible when modding it.
wait.... maybe you can make an moving origin-brush and attach a trigger_teleport to it.... but i guess it won't work.
For having an teleporter in a region that only activates when you push a button the only fast evil hack i can think about is to have the teleporter behind a door that is triggered by the button.
