well it looks good, but i have a problem with it...
it DEFINETLY looks better, but the rocket needs a colour change
the rocket still looks like it's for the other launcher, it needs a new look
... and maybe a size change somewhere.
a smaller rocket or a larger launcher, as the rocket looks wider than the launcher
the rocket needs a makeover too lol
if you ignore the text...

a rocket like this, except a lil more smoothed, and i think we got a suitable rocket
also check this great thing out http://www.urbanjunkie.co.uk/product.php?xProd=474&currency=1
i have one... and it's aimed at you!

I'm using the model actually. I've been using it ever since it got released. But I think I'm pretty much the only one. I too want to have it included as standard RL.
And as for the rockets itself, I agree with Pure Insanity that it should be remade. It's looks kinda boring as it is now (and also a bit too big for this new RL model).

The rocket laucher is great, and it sure beats the old one.

the rocket itself asked for a redesign as they seemed to clash.

By the way,
These USB snowbots can take your USB rockets !

I agree. It looks WAY to long and slim. And I think that is the main reason its not in Nexuiz (and why I hate it). If you compare 2.3 RL and this RL you can clearly see the difference.

I don't really like the look of either, although I use the new one because of the lower profile. The old one is the right size, but it is just ugly- the back of it bulges out in a perverse way, and the shape/cartoony texture map is altogether not befitting of a bringer of explosive death.

May I suggest that a revised design, if anyone ever ventures to create one, should strive to avoid the "long tube with doodads" look. That kind of thing resembles today's RPGs, which are NOT held in the same stance as a rifle or flamethrower- they are over the shoulder weapons.

It'd be cooler if it were shoulder-mounted, I think. It makes it seem more powerful, and makes it distinct/ original.

Also the hands not relating to the model doesn't matter, especially if you keep the hands fairly generic looking.

Even if it were shoulder mounted it still would be on the lower part of the HUD. The only thing that would change would be the model itself. Also, a shoulder mounted rocket launcher seems to fire a bit slowly as it is a bit more hard to handle, so the current fire rate wouldn't fit.

I dunno, I think it would look okay shoulder mounted with the current fire rate, it'd be fun. Somehow I just think it would make it look bigger, meatier, and more powerful.

So what, is that like a limitation of the Darkplaces engine? You can't have weapons in the upper half of the screen? Any way to change that somehow? Maybe contact Darkplaces' creators?
