Its good.. still some room for improvement, but hthe slicker design makes it feel a lot "tighter" if you know what i mean.. more like a handheld effective thing that a hunk of idunnowhat. when I'm holding it though i cant see the right side thingy on the tim, wich makes it look a tad weird (fov 105) and that antenna-thingy is a bit too visible imo

Now that is what I call a rocket launcher! Is it higher or lower poly than the old one? Any performance improvement from it?

To me it looks very high poly model for a weapon. Especially at the end of that thing (barrel). I have seen pictures of it before it was done and also thought it was very high poly but I might be wrong. I think morf told me it's less than the one we're having now.

And what about nulling out or deleting faces in the front (barrel) when holding the weapon as you never see that part anyway, might save some performance. But this might already be done, I dunno.

I doubt you will see any performance changes with that model. The new item models should also be lower poly then the old ones but i did not notice any change in timedemos. And as morphed is good at modeling i'm sure that model is rather low poly and uses modern ways to look that good without being stress for the gfx card :)

I like that rocketlauncher model but i also like the old one. It really looked just right to me. Only thing i did not like about the old model was that huge end part of the model at higher fov.
This new one indeed looks matching to a scifi shooter so i'm ok with it. I have no problem with the antenna but at high fov it looks a bit strange as the right side seem to be cut away.. damn perspective ;)

IMO ingame it looks too small & looks too light weight even for a futuristic shooter, especially considering it is not a Quake like RL, instead the rockets are much slower.
Although a thin and small Rl technically can fire slow rockets, it just doesnt fit to each other and makes it feel wrong.
(i have not looked much at the textures yet, so i can not say anything about it)
