[MAP-BETA2] Blood Prison

And here it is !
The 2nd Beta of my latest map called "Blood Prison"

Get it here (a big thank you to tChr)

here (rapidshare) (1,5MB)

To play the map place the pk3 in your nexuiz/data folder and start the map from the menu

Changes:
-map scale
-added rtlights
-some minor changes to the geometry
-better lighting in general
-better performance

I welcome all comments and critics particularly concerning the item placement and the new scale.

@esteel: the trickjumps still work (i've added 2 more now) but they're damn hard... but i think it's not so bad as the map is still fast enough.

Wow, the jerks hosting that mirror REALLY wanted to keep me away from your map. I finally managed to download and play through it, and it looks excellent, but next time try to get it hosted somewhere else. No beta is worth going through that twice. :D

Hehe, rapidshare is not that bad but i also like it more without all this stuff.
Strahlemann: do you have a sourceforge account? Might add you to nexuiz-extra so you can upload maps there? :)

I tried this new beta. The two new trickjumps are good, but the 'old' ones are really hard now. At least i have MUCH more problems doing them then the two new ones. But i must confess i only tested them with my high.cfg to really enjoy the visual changes. The jumps might be easier with more then 40 fps ;)

We really need content download soon!!!

Yeah rapidshare isn't the best solution. I should create a sourceforge account (but that will take at least 2 weeks as i'm not at my Home-PC during this time, and this laptop here is really bad (at least i've got isdn here))
It would be very nice if someone could mirror the map :roll:

What do you guys think about the scale. Is it better now as it is bigger?
(Yeah i know the trickjumps are harder now, but is it better to have this larger scale in general ? ;))

And I thought about removing the RL and placing something else there. So that there's no "High-Power-Weapon" at all (no Nex, no RL). What do you think?

Or if you just want to tell me that the map is fine like it is... tell me 8)

I can give you a planetNexuiz website, you can host all your files there, no space limit (thanks to Willis)

Yeah scaling up is good. Just to bad that the more useful trickjump is harder now :). But maybe i'll notice the other one is better when playing against a real opponent.

I'm not sure about this Rocketlauncher. Right now every weapon is there only once. If you want an other 'weak' weapon there are then two. Its a nice idea but you can already see on nexdm01 that there are weapons you like more then others. I would pick the mortar instead of the hagar or machinegun about 95% of the time. So if you remove the RL you might create a situation that this part of the map is ignored because people think the weapon is not worth picking up. Maybe replacing it with the electro is an idea as its a really strong but underrated gun that might then rise in popularity.

On the other hand having a strong weapon creates pressure and action because people try to get it. So its not a bad thing to have a really strong weapon. And the rocketlauncher is devestating yes but it can be easlly owned by other exploding wepaons as the hagar and the mortar so i do not think its 'too' powerful on the map as to destroy the flow.. I would leave it where it is ;)

By some braino from my part, all the maps in my "mirror" was deleted som time ago. I've put this one in again. If anyone else miis their map at my mirror, let me know :)
