That looks nice, although maybe it would be better if it were a sprite, so it just always faces you with 1 plane, instead of 2 intersecting ones.

The flames in Doom 3 look really cool.

BTW an old game that used flames was Space Hulk, it looked pretty good. Here's a picture featuring some flames in it. Obviously it'd be better to see a video but I couldn't find one.

Also look at this video of Syndicate Wars. Around the two minute 05 mark, a guy in black is walking around on fire, then collapses, and you see the flames melt him leaving only a skeleton. If this kind of thing happened in Nexuiz it would be really nice.
