Map Request : Create CTF version for Ruiner and Final Rage

I really like these two maps and I was wondering if someone could create a CTF game mode version of these.

I'm not sure where the bases would go, but you could just make a copy of the existing map and flip it around to make the whole thing symmetrical, much like runningman.

I second the Final_Rage CTF map...

...very bizarre you asking about this, since I was just thinking of how it should be done yesterday...I hope someone will take on this task. :)

Just what I was thinking of doing. I did it before to Bloodprison which more or less seemed to work. Ruiner I think would be the better of the two to be CTF'd.

the map design is very bad for a ctf version. they are funnel shaped and that is the problem and as far i see there is no way for i ctf version of the maps without design changes

I thought of a redesign of ruiner as a ctf-map as well. But it would need major layout-changes to work good and i would not like it to be rushed.
I'll help anyone who wants to do this.

About final_rage: i don't know how this could be achieved in a good way, but maybe tZork has an idea ?

For Final_Rage, I always invisioned the flag being where the quad is now. That's the main Flag room. The place where I'd split the map would be in the tunnels behind the mega armor/machine gun room (the one with the teleporter). Or maybe you could have another teleporter that takes you to that same room on the opposing teams side?

Here's another suggestion for Final Rage.

The flag could inside that room where the mega health is, the room with the small window. In your screen shot, it's sort of above and behind you, I think, with a jump pad and two levels inside the room. It would make it difficult to get into the base, but it would also be difficult to defend because it's a tight space. You couldn't easily camp in there because someone could chuck grenades or plasma balls into the room.

Then I imagine the two sides would connect where the quad is, and perhaps the passages above it. This way, there would be one quad for the whole map.

Perhaps the two sides could also connect in the passages to the right as well (in that screen shot), if more pathways were needed. Gotta have multiple pathways between bases.

Ruiner is more of a funnel design, I think.

You could have the two halves connect at the low point, the funnel, and then have a secondary pathway somewhere up higher.

The map need to be bigger for a ctf version and some major Layout changes.

Hmm...yeah I guess both maps could use a little increase in size for CTF with 10-16 players.
