What Do I need for re designing the menu?

Hello,

I'm a bit of a web designer \ beginner developer. So i'm comfortable with programs like GIMP and Photoshop. I know some PHP so programing code "shouldn't" be too scary for be to look at.

Anyways.. i'm wondering what I need to download (the source maybe?) and what I need to do to re design the menu.. and what i'd need to recompile it.. if thats what I have to do?

Or is it a matter of just replacing images in the pk3 files?

what should i be looking for here?

oh, all you need to do is unzip the dataXXXX.pk3 file, and go in the menus dir, and fool around with that stuff.

oh ok cool.. yeah i've found the files for the menu code.. but where are the images..? it just will say something like $gfx\menubutton.. or what ever in the code

oh wait.. i think i see them

i've started work on it.. if i can be bothered i might do bit more then replace the images.. i think i'll change some fon't colours..

i might even see if i can create a 'tabbed' feel to options in starting a new server.. n that

been searching through the code in the menu files.. can't figure out how to change font colours.. does anyone know?
