Strange Turtles

Postby Urmel » Sun Mar 26, 2006 2:17 pm

I tried to find out what the value "showturtle" in the config.cfg is used for. But I couldn't.

Can anybody help me? :?

btw wouldn't it be useful to have a sticky one for config settings? They have such a thing on the planetnexuiz.de (thx GreEn M'Arine!!!), but there's no description for evrything. For example the turtles :)

Maybe there are ppl who made their own xperiences not documented yet?

If you set showturtle to 1, it displays a turtle on your screen if your fps drops down to very low (ie. 0-5).

I now updated the wiki to Nexuiz 1.5 and also have used part of the DP variable information and it says:
http://savage747.sa.funpic.de/wiki/pmwi ... GameTweaks
showturtle
default value: "0"
show turtle icon when framerate is too low (not used)

So i guess it does now work???

In Nexuiz 1.5, there are descriptions for all (engine) cvars/commands when you use "cvarlist"/"cmdlist" or tab completion. So there is no need to further document them, since the engine always has the most up to date descriptions.
I would like very much to document our custom cvars the same way, but LordHavoc isn't sure how custom explanations could be added without breaking compatibility.

And the most severe problem is that probably no one here is looking forward to go through our almost 21KB default.cfg :)

Not to mention there are tons of variables that are NOT in the default.cfg :)
